Kylong Plains has a single faction for adventurers to gain favor with: Residents of Teren’s Grasp. From the moment you arrive at the docks, you will be offered quests to improve your faction with this group.

Teren’s Grasp faction is slightly different than the other Kunark factions. There is no opposing group in Kylong Plains so you will not receive any quests that result in a lowering of Teren’s Grasp faction. The access to merchants and menders is staggered by area, with Dreg’s Landing being most amenable to working with outsiders. However, to purchase items from the faction merchant, you will require maximum ally: 50,000 faction rather than the 40,000 faction required by other merchants.

Gaining Faction

There are multiple quest hotspots: Dreg’s Landing, Teren’s Grasp, Brakthyr’s Post, Kunzar’s Edge and Highton.

The EQ2i wikia has an excellent timeline for the quests in Kylong Plains which will bring you to max ally with Teren’s Grasp. Don’t miss the quest for A Lost Package, which requires you to examine a corpse at 875,34,-495 and deliver it to Grayson Blythe in Teren’s Grasp for a quick 1,000 faction.

Completing the solo quests in the zone will achieve the 50,000 faction without the need for additional kills.

The heroic quest line from Anda, beginning with A Fist Full of Metal, will result in negative faction with the Sel’noks in Jarsath Waste.

Benefits to Faction

Merchants and menders will become willing to take your business as you increase faction. Those on the docks are the most open to newcomers and happy to deal with you as soon as you reach indifferent faction. Most merchants and menders have a 31.4% surcharge for transactions. However, Aliya Vensdord, the Faction Merchant at 2226,528,-1007 in the Hall of Teren Rysis offers standard payment for goods, so you do not have to return home to sell items.

I think it’s the case that Dreg’s Landing is happy with indifferent faction, that in Teren’s Grasp you’ll find you require amiable and that the other locations require kindly. If you have faction above indifferent and below amiable, it would be great if you would test this and post a comment!

Owing to the 31% surcharge on all transactions in Teren’s Grasp (buying, selling and mending), it’s recommended that you return to your home town for mending and restocking. To sell items to NPC merchants, you can use the Teren’s Grasp faction merchant or, once you have faction there, sell your goods in Ryliss in the Fens of Nathsar, where the merchants offer full price.

The following table shows the items available from Aliya Vensdord at 2226,528,-1007 in the Hall of Teren Rysis (the upper level of Teren’s Grasp). To purchase these you require 50,000 faction with the Residents of Teren’s Grasp.

For weapons you need to go to Faru N’Mar, Faction Merchant – Weapons, at 1735,483,-1006 in the Stealth and Skullduggery area in the northeast of Teren’s Grasp. All of these items require 50,000 faction with the Residents of Teren’s Grasp to buy.
