EQ2 Icon Harvesting In Norrath

I’m leaving the guides and reference tables available however they are no longer being updated. Tiers 1-9 are covered and to my knowledge this data is correct. However, the higher tiers are not covered as I am not currently playing EQ2.

If you do spot any errors in any of the above, simply leave a comment with details and I’ll get it fixed.

Thanks!

Echo Bazaar Mrs Plenty’s Carnival: The Tents

If you haven’t tried Echo Bazaar yet, you really should take a look. You can read our previous post introducing the game and refer to How to Play Echo Bazaar to get started. Today’s post is focused on a single area within Fallen London.

“Smoke and mirrors! Light and shade! Bright paint and squealing children and the roar of lions! And the music, as a great man once said, is like electric sugar.”

Once you’ve explored the Entrance to the Carnival, it’s time to brave your way into the tents to see the main attractions. Buy a stack of tickets and come explore the Big Top, the Sideshows and the Games Tent. Be sure to keep a tight hold on your valuables and under no circumstances should you ever make eye contact with a clown. [More...]

Evony City Development

Part Six of our series on how to succeed at Evony without paying money got lost in the shuffle. Here, somewhat belatedly, is the post covering City Development within the game.

Be sure to read the previous Evony posts to maximise your chances of success: City Placement, Evony Heroes, Production and Playing the Market, Leveling heroes and farming medals and Combat.

City Development

Summary: Aim to be constantly building. You want plenty of cottages to start but then shift emphasis towards barracks later. Your early target is Barracks level 4, Archery level 1, then Archery level 6, Barracks level 9. Make NPC level 5 in lots of nearby places but save some flats for later development into level 10 NPCs

The key to getting fast prestige is to build things. You get bonus prestige if your town hall is low level. Don’t be surprised to see someone in the top ten prestige with only one city: they’ve been twinked by friends. Remember that prestige is not a great measure of strength, it is just an indicator.

Try to plan production times around your real life – things that take a long time should happen while you’re asleep, coffee breaks and lunch times can be co-ordinated with the need to start a new bit of research or whatever (and you can check the market while you’re there). Use the high int hero as mayor just before you start a research, that speeds it up.

Eventually you’ll build nearly everything so it doesn’t really matter what order you build things in. However, you’ll fall behind if you don’t do your best to ensure that you’re constantly building and constantly researching.

Initially, three barracks is enough. Ultimately, you’ll be cutting back to about six cottages so that you can cram the city with barracks. First, though, fill up with cheap Level 2 to 4 cottages that provide you with population for tax, mills and the army: it doesn’t take long to demolish them when you find you need to.

Archery technology and Barracks 4 should be a priority. The next key troop type is ballista at Barracks level 9 and Archery 6 but that takes a while so upgrade your lumbering tech a bit more after you get archers as troops. You’ll also need scouts so research Informatics after you get some archers.

The ballista are used to farm NPCs. Mostly you will want level 5 NPCs, which means capturing a level 5 flat and building a city there – as soon as you abandon it there will be a level 5 NPC there. Send emails to neighbours to make sure they know to make level 5 NPCs or at worst the odd level 4.

You will want to capture a level 10 NPC at some point too and that is hard unless it is 1.0 or 1.4 miles away so if you have an adjacent flat, hang onto it. You will also want to farm level 10 NPCs and level 10 flats so be careful not to convert every flat to an NPC.

Aach has reached the top ten prestige list and the top of the honor ranks without spending a penny.

EQ2 Icon Everything I Know About Void Shards

As a part of a clean-up operation here at MMORPG Info, I want to combine some of the content into single references. These posts about the Void Shards are generally correct but have not been updated to take the Sentinel’s Fate expansion into account.

If there are any errors, please feel free to let me know in the comments.
